A Successful Summer of 2016

2016 was a busy year for FYTF. We successfully applied for and received a discretionary grant from the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation and this grant along with our CFC donors allowed us to support twelve foster youth interns at U.S. Fish and Wildlife. The interns enjoyed another successful summers with their meals and transportation subsidized by FYTF and with the assistance of several business, including:

Chipotle, Ballston Common, Maria Contreras, Restaurateur 2 Chick-Fil-A, Ballston Common, Pam Donahoe, Restaurant Marketing Director Which Wich, Ballston Common Faisal Lalani, Partner Vocelli Pizza, Bailey’s Crossroads Cafe Gallery, Skyline Drive, Falls Church Perfect Pita, Falls Church Einstein Bagels, Falls Church Chili's, Falls Church

This year we also had the privilege of serving another foster youth about to age out of the foster care system. He is currently working part time while attending college and living independently. This foster youth will turn 21 soon and no longer be eligible for any state assistance so we will be brainstorming ways to help him make it through his final year of college.
